The fragrant flowers grow to 3 in. - 4 in. across and slowly yield to the long slender green leaves which cover the tree from midspring through autumn. Kobus magnolia is a slow grower, but worth the wait. In time it can reach heights of up to 40 ft. Kobus thrives in fertile, well-draining soil and full to part sun. If sheltered from harsh winds and extreme wet or dry conditions it can live for up to 100-years.
